Connecting your Steamworks account to IMPRESS Launchpad has a number of benefits:

First and foremost, it allows us to track when your Steam keys have been activated by a Steam user. This means you can track the true conversion/activation rate of keys that are requested or distributed via campaigns, and allows you to re-use any that don’t get redeemed.

We also pull in your wishlist data to chart alongside your game’s press, creator, stream, social and coverage data – to show you where spikes may be occurring. This allows you to see what’s working, surfacing opportunities to re-engage best-fit audiences with high engagement.

Complete the following steps to enable Steamworks integration:

Connect Steamworks User

1. Log in to Steamworks dashboard
2. Navigate to ‘Users & Permissions’ -> ‘Manage Users’
3. Click ‘Invite User’
4. Use email partner@impress.games in the user field
5. Check following permissions:
   • Generate Steam Keys — needed to check for Key activations
   • View Marketing Traffic Data — needed for overlaying traffic data on impress
   • View Financial Info — needed for showing wishlist data on impress
6. Once you send the invitation, we’ll confirm it as soon as possible - but please note that after we’ve done so, you’ll need to accept the request again in your Steamworks.

Create Steam Publisher Key

Navigate to ‘Users & Permissions’ -> ‘Manage Groups’ and select a group that your game is included in. If you have the correct/administrative permissions, you should see the option to ‘Create WebAPI Key’ on the right-hand side. If it has already been created, you should see the key listed there.

To validate your Publisher API Key, paste this url in your browser while replacing KEY_HERE with your API key:

Create Steam Financial Key

Navigate to ‘Users & Permissions’ -> ‘Manage Groups’. To create a Financial Web API key, a Financial API Group must first be created. The Financial Web API Key will then be displayed on the newly created group’s page.

To validate your Financial API Key, paste this url in your browser while replacing KEY_HERE with your API key:

After you’ve sent the user invitation and created your API keys, paste them in your Team’s Steamworks Settings. The site will then validate your credentials and connect your data.

(Note: If you have games in different Steamworks accounts, this is currently NOT supported. Please reach out to support and we can look to prioritise it.)

Disconnecting Steamworks from IMPRESS

To disconnect from Steamworks from IMPRESS, clear your Publisher and Financial API keys in the Team’s Steamworks Settings, and remove the partner@impress.games user from your Steamworks account.
